Alexa’s research interests span the spectrum of barriers to PrEP implementation. These include barriers to access (such as financial barriers, physician-level barriers), as well as stigma, but they also include barriers to PrEP adherence and persistence. Additionally, she is interested in the rollout of alternate biomedical strategies such as event-based PrEP dosing and long-acting injectable PrEP, with a particular focus on their potential to alleviate barriers to uptake and adherence.
Alexa has an MPH and received a doctoral degree from the CUNY School of Public Health & Health Policy.
