Dr. Somya Rastogi is an Investigator at the ISPH. Her broad area of interest is population-based, behavioral intervention research in youth. Areas of special interest include interventions targeting physical activity and sedentary behavior, eHealth interventions to promote health, accelerometry methods, testing feasibility of remote research methods, and use of survey-based data to explore disparities in health promoting behaviors in youth.  

Somya holds a PhD in Physical Activity Epidemiology with a minor in Population Health from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In her dissertation research, she developed and implemented an eHealth physical activity intervention and evaluated the effects on children’s physical functioning and psychosocial health. Prior to it, she completed MPH from TISS, Mumbai and worked for several years in HIV surveillance and non-communicable disease prevention in South and East India.
