Jenny Shen is a Postdoctoral Fellow at ISPH. Jenny joined ISPH in 2022 and completed doctoral training in epidemiology at CUNY SPH. Her dissertation was entitled, “Understanding Long COVID in a National Community-Based Cohort: Symptom Clusters, Symptom Natural History, and Vaccine’s Role as a Prevention Tool”. Her research interests include infectious disease epidemiology, HIV prevention, substance use, social determinants of health, and long-term outcomes following viral infections. She applies causal inference and longitudinal methods to study Post-COVID Conditions, COVID-19 vaccination and treatment, methamphetamine use disorder, HIV incidence and prevention, and structural drivers of health. Her current work focuses on methamphetamine use, PrEP implementation, HIV risk, and the rectal microbiome among sexual minority men.

Jenny earned her BA and MS in Economics at Nankai University in China, her MS in Biostatistics at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and her PhD in Epidemiology at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
