Dr. Feyissa is well versed in the areas of maternal and child health, mental health, and chronic conditions. He is passionate about expanding evidence-based policy and practice in health and social care through evidence-based research and teaching. Dr. Feyissa utilizes diverse research methodologies ranging from primary quantitative and qualitative research to systematic reviews and methods that involve best practice implementation, guideline development and evaluation. Equipped with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, Dr. Feyissa conducts both primary research and systematic reviews to generate and synthesize evidence that guides public health policies and practice. Dr. Feyissa’s research address both health outcomes and behavioral and environmental conditions that influence health outcomes. Dr. Feyissa has been on the list of the top 2% world scientists since 2021 according to the Stanford/Elsevier’s ranking system.
Dr. Feyissa’s research interests include maternal and child health, mental health, and chronic diseases. He also seeks to bridge the gap between research, and policy and practice by utilizing methodologies that involve knowledge appraisal, synthesis, and translation. According to the Stanford/Elsevier’s ranking system, Dr. Feyissa has been on the list of the top 2% world scientists since 2021.
