Statistical and Computational Approaches for Causal Inference in Massive Observational Datasets: Establishing Causal Effect of Lifestyle on Cognitive Deterioration Using UK Biobank Data

Dementia represents one of the largest and most urgent public health problems globally. Any intervention providing even a modest delay would be of major public health significance. Thereby, this study aims to identify lifestyle factors associated with delay in onset of dementia/AD as potential public health intervention points, and in doing so develop computational methods for causal inference in massive observational data sets.
